I am currently in first place in our league with 1616 points, but that is only good enough to rank #35,372. The overall leader on ESPN has 1962 points. With this being my first attempt at the Gridiron Challenge, I feel like it has been a successful campaign so far, with definite room for improvement. Send us any feedback you may have ([email protected]).
Week 15 is quickly approaching so make sure you have your initial lineups ready to go for tonight’s Jaguars @ Falcons game. Now check out who we started in our Gridiron Challenge:
QB: Tom Brady ($7.10 locked, $7.80 market) @ Den
Brady has had a tough time in Denver in recent memory, but I have built some decent equity in him. He is projected to score 20 points according to our Top 200. We all know, if the Patriots are up by less than 2 touchdowns with 10 minutes to go, it’ll be Tebow-Time in Mile-High.
QB: Tim Tebow ($6.10) vs. NE
Can’t stop, won’t stop… Our projections have Tebow putting up 16 points this week which is only good enough for the #11 spot in our Positional Rankings.
RB: Chris Johnson ($7.20) @ Ind
Indy has allowed 94+ yards in all, but 2 weeks this season to opposing running backs. That’s 9 points in standard leagues even if they don’t score a touchdown. Chris Johnson is an opportunistic start this week (rewind to last season and I’d think that last statement was insane…)
RB: Felix Jones ($5.30) @ TB
Murray going down last week hurt me, but Felix Jones looked great in his place. This week he is facing the most generous defense against opposing fantasy RBs in TB. Hopefully he can follow up last week with another strong performance.
WR: Dwayne Bowe ($5.70) vs. GB
This is a risky start, but word out of KC is that Kyle Orton may finally start in place of the horrendous Tyler Palko. This increases Bowe’s upside (see Lloyd, Brandon of 2010). They are also facing the defense that is giving up the 4th most points to opposing WRs so this could be a great match up for Bowe, but like I said – This is a risky start.
WR: Denarius Moore ($4.10) vs. Det
I keep forgetting to take him out of my lineup even as I am updating FFPrep on Sunday mornings. He practiced yesterday though so he should play this week and redeem my awful decisions of the last 3 weeks.
TE: Rob Gronkowski ($6.90 locked, $8.00 market) @ Den
Since week 9, Gronk has scored 11 touchdowns or 1.83 touchdowns per game. That is an unreal statistic. Add that to the his 593 yards over the same period (or 98.8/game) and you have an absolutely fantasy monster. And to think I had Aaron Hernandez ranked higher in the 2011 Draft Kit.
K: Ryan Longwell ($2.90 locked, $3.30 market) vs. NO
D/ST: Eagles ($4.50) vs. NYJ (check out the D/ST rankings for this week)
Total: $49.80 / $50.00 ($52.00 Market)
